FinePix Z200fd is a new model in Fujifilm’s ultra-compact fashionista Z-series line-up. Fujufilm say versatility and style abound as the camera comes in a range of striking color combinations ensuring this glam-cam turns heads whenever partygoers decide to capture the moment.
This camera is a decidedly party animal, with general image specifications very average for new cameras in this class. It is still a good a performer as fierce competition keeps even point and shoot digital cameras at the forefront of technology.

Clever Modes
A number of clever picture modes and options in the FinePix Z200fd really make this camera the perfect party companion:
- Shooting modes include manual as well as a range of general-purpose auto modes and specialist exposure modes, including one just for fireworks.
- Timing is everything, and the FinePix Z200fd’s specialist modes include timing to help photographers include themselves in the shot at the party. There is the couple mode using the face detection focusing technology to trigger the shutter when it detects two faces close together as the main subject. The group-timer mode ads the ability to select up to four faces required to automatically take the shot. Of course it does have the normal fixed self-timer delays of two and ten seconds.
- The built in flashes in compact digital cameras are notorious for producing red-eye, so Fujifilm engineers have included automatic red eye reduction in the in camera. This works in conjunction with the FinePix Z200fd’s face detection system to detect up to ten faces and check them for any signs of red eye.
- i-Flash in the FinePix Z200fd works with the camera’s exposure system to give only the appropriate intensity for the flash to reduce the flat washed out look common in many flash images. This is very important in a party camera.
- The FinePix Z200fd incorporates a sensor shift image stabilization system to combat any camera shake that may result in blurred pictures.
- The dual shot mode is ideal when you are not sure if the flash is the best option. In this mode the FinePix Z200fd automatically takes two images in succession, one with flash and one without.
- In blog mode the FinePix Z200fd automatically resizes capture images to 640x480 pixels or 320x240 pixels so they are ready for sharing the party pics on social networks such as My Space, on a blog or sending them to friends via email.
The FinePix Z200fd will debut in September at a retail price of $299.95.
