The new PhotoLink Handheld Scanner is simple way to get the memories out of those old photo albums hiding in the bottom of wardrobes.

Revive memories of vacation trips, school graduations, birthday parties, and sporting triumphs and display your favorite print photographs on a digital photo frame. The Pandigital PhotoLink Handheld Scanner makes the process easy, as it does all the complicated work in one simple to use unit. The PhotoLink scanner allows photographers scan existing color and black/white prints, up to 4x6 inches large, directly onto a convenient flash media card for placement into a digital photo frame’s card slot for immediate viewing. It does not need a computer genius to operate as the PhotoLink handles all the hard stuff.

“Like all Pandigital products, the PhotoLink Handheld Scanner enables thousands of special memories to be shared and enjoyed,” said Dean Finnegan, CEO and founder of Pandigital.

“Now, older photos–-such as those of grandma and grandpa on their wedding day--don’t have to stay in a single frame or photo album. They can be seen and enjoyed by the whole family every day. Also, photos that don’t exist digitally can now be easily added into a digital photo frame or collection of digital images with the PhotoLink scanner.”

The PhotoLink is compact and easily transportable making it easy to take anywhere to scan and share photos with friends and loved ones. It weighs only eight ounces and measures only 6.15W x 1.8H x 1.5D inches.

The Pandigital PhotoLink scanner comes with an SD card and mini-USB 2.0 port and cable for quick and easy way to save photos and transfer them to an SD or other flash media card, as well as a computer. The scanner has a 5-in-1 media card reader, so photographers can scan in their images and save them onto their SD, XD, MMC CF or MS memory cards.

This portable handheld photo scanner is also an easy way to transfer digital images into PCs and laptops for sharing on the internet and via e-mail. While Pandigital’s main aim with their Photo Link scanner is to make it easy for people to load photo prints onto their digital photo frames, the scanner can scan in photos for downloading onto a PC. The photos are scanned at a useful 1800x1200 resolution and, more than enough for display on a computer screen or for uploading to a photo sharing site on the web, so family and friends can share the memories.

Of course, the draw back to this scanner is the size limitation. What is the resolution of this scanner?

300 dpi
I bought one last week and was very disappointed in the quality. It didn't compare to the 300 dpi that my flat bed produced. I returned it and got my money back.
The idea is brilliant, but the quality stinks!

This scanner seems to be for people without flat bed scanners who want a quick and easy low res scan for screen and web use.
